After 3 weeks of “Hurri-cation” I reflect on the “Serious Fun” that my son and I participated in while we volunteered in our local community. After returning from evacuating due to Hurricane Florence we saw a community band together in a common Purpose and engaged in meaningful Socialization. These are deeply engaging internal motivators and important “play therapy” for the people in the path of the flooding.

Mr. Powley is a 14 year teaching veteran and is currently the dual enrollment American History teacher at the #1 ranked high school in South Carolina.
